This also enables me to ensure i am punctual and arrive at your door at a time that is convenient to you. Another plus point is that this allows me to be thorough, thus achieving the best possible results. I can honestly say i have never left a job, thinking that i could have done a better.
We are able to consistently provide a quality bespoke service, however this does mean i have to charge more than some other carpet cleaners, When i am being compared on price though, i always ask my customers, how long they were told it would take to complete the work, this to me is the crux of the issue on price. When i am compared on time as well as price i have found i consistently provide excellent value for money.
The processes in carpet cleaning are many. All of them in my opinion and in the opinion of the NCCA The national carpet cleaners association are essential for achieving the very best results. In lay mans terms, Corners can be cut and the customer would never know, Thus spending less time on the job, thus charging less. Time really is money.
And it’s why i always advise every customer looking to have their carpet cleaned, to ask how long the work will take, Some will of course work a little quicker, that’s understandable but to clean say one room in a house, this will take me a minimum of two hours, loading and unloading the van of equipment alone will take forty minutes (Twenty minutes each end)
Then i have to vacuum, spot clean, add a pre spray, agitate using a heavy brush machine, then finally hot water extract, there may also be moving furniture, placing protectors under furniture etc. This all takes time, But the results speak for themselves.
My prices reflect the end result, i am cheaper than the franchises who will always be more expensive as they will almost certainly be VAT registered and both the franchise and operator have to make a profit.
I am more expensive than the part time ” splash and dash” ! I recently came off a very well known trade directory because i was being ranked below a local window cleaner that had simply added carpet cleaning to his services, i have no problem with healthy competition, In fact i regularly pass on work to ” Ace carpet cleaning” based in westcliff as i know i can trust them to provide a service i am happy to recommend.
The window cleaner simply got himself a machine from Argos which is totally unsuitable for someone cleaning carpets professionally, I have spent tens of thousands on equipment and training specializing in carpet and upholstery cleaning. So i found this situation very frustrating, and i did not renew my listing the following year.
I am happy to report that it made no difference to the number of inquires i receive though.
